The Brady Education Foundation seeks to close educational opportunity gaps associated with race, ethnicity and family income. The Foundation pursues its mission by promoting collaboration among researchers, educators, and other stakeholders via the funding of research and program evaluations that have the potential of informing private funders and public policy. The Foundation is particularly focused on the evaluation of programs that are feasible and sustainable (i.e., can work and be maintained in the real world of educational settings and systems), accessible (i.e., are available to and attainable by the families that need them), and strength-based (i.e., recognize not only the challenges that minoritized families and those with low economic resources face but also the strengths that develop within diverse cultural contexts that can be capitalized upon to promote strong academic outcomes).
Our reason for joining ECFC:
Both in the programming provided (e.g., the excellent work being done concerning equity, education around policy issues) and in the connections with other funders working in this area, belonging to ECFC has important and positive impacts on what we do and how we do it.

1. What data and findings are needed to close the opportunity gaps associated with race and income? For other funders supporting research: what research are they doing in this area, and are there ways we can collaborate together or coordinate our efforts? For funders supporting practice and early educational settings: what data are they needing to inform their portfolios? 2. For other funders supporting research in general, engaging around methodological issues (e.g., best methods for evaluating programs, best methods for evaluating policies and systems). 3. How best to provide policy makers with important findings that can inform their work.
