Early Care and Education
The A.D. Henderson Foundation supports early learning for children ages birth to eight in the state of Vermont and Broward County, Florida. In Vermont, we also seek to build the capacity of nonprofit organizations, primarily focusing on early education and adult to child mentoring. Our vision for early childhood is that is that every child ages 0-8 in the State of Vermont and Broward County Florida has high quality early learning opportunities and experiences so that all young children have the intellectual, social, and emotional foundations necessary to be successful.
- Our reason for joining ECFC:
We wanted to join an affinity group of like minded peers who were taking a lead in enhancing the systems that support early care and education. We need to test and validate the good work we are already doing and incorporate the learning of what’s working well for our other partners around the country.
- Where our work is focused:
The A.D. Henderson Foundation operates in the State of Vermont and Broward County, Florida.
What we want to work on with our peers:
We’ve come to realize that best practices in early childhood development are well established—but what we don’t know how to do is pay for the high quality that young children need and deserve. We would like to work with our peers on approaches to advocacy and program development to create a critical mass of understanding and support for the importance of the early childhood years that will help us all be a success.
