Centering Native Voices: Lessons from Philanthropy and Community, Executive Summaries PDF

The ECFC and Native Americans in Philanthropy (NAP) Indigenous Early Childhood Workgroup engaged Roanhorse Consulting, LLC, an indigenous and woman owned firm, interview both EC philanthropists working in Native communities, and leaders in those communities to understand authentic partnerships with Native Communities. ECFC & RCCF Respond to Proposed Changes to Child Care PDF

ECFC comments submitted on the Federal government’s Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM), which proposed regulatory changes to the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG), also known in Federal regulations as the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF). CCDF is the biggest source of federal funding to states, territories, and Tribes to help families pay for child care and to improve the quality of care. Proposed regulatory changes represent a strong effort by the administration to push for changes that are possible within the current federal law to help families and providers.

Thirty years ago, ECFC was started by a ‘motley crew’ of children and youth grantmakers that recognized the need to convene funders who supported the unique time of life that makes up the early years. Since then, we have learned together, seeded systemic change, elevated policy conversations and over the last few years, evolved into a strategic body pushing equity and alignment in the early learning funding space. ECFC and our philanthropic partners stand by the need for welcoming and inclusive early childhood programs for children of all races and family structures, including LGBTQ+ families. Read our statement in support of the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s (NAEYC) Developmentally Appropriate Practices (DAP) Guide, in response to Alabama’s decision to prohibit Pre-K educators from employing a revised version of the DAP guidelines.

The Raising Child Care Fund (RCCF) is proud to release our 2022 Annual Report. We are an active philanthropic partner in the national movement to transform child care into a system that works for all families and for all those who care for and educate young children. RCCF partners with community organizers in 17 states (including the District of Columbia) who are leading the charge to lift voices, build power and expand equity in child care. This report celebrates key wins, highlights their collective impact, and shares new lessons with the philanthropic community.
