The GFE 2018 Annual Conference in San Diego will investigate what it takes to foster the whole learner by exploring interventions and support structures to enhance environments within and outside of school, including opportunities for supporting young children and their families as they learn, engage and grow. Thursday, October 18 – ECFC Special Event: Grantmakers Lunch & Site Visit to Mi Escuelita Therapeutic Preschool
Hosted by ECFC and San Diego Grantmakers. Timed following the close of the GFE Conference.
As part of an initiative to explore how local, state, and national early childhood funder collaboratives can learn from and work with each other, ECFC and San Diego Grantmakers will co-host a Grantmakers Learning and Networking lunch with local funders in San Diego, followed by a unique site visit opportunity to the Mi Escuelita Therapeutic Preschool in the Chula Vista School District of San Diego. Mi Escuelita is the only school of its kind in Southern California, designed especially for children ages 3-5 affected by domestic violence and abuse to help break the cycle of violence, help children and their families heal and begin the right path for school. Registration is separate from the GFE conference.
