Equity in Investment Opportunity for Early Childhood Leadership – What is Means for EC Funders

July 1st @ 3pm ET

On this Thursday Funders Call, we will be discussing the ECFC-commissioned report by Sherri Killins Stewart on the professional experiences of Black early childhood leaders, including their experiences with philanthropy.

In the context of three national crises, including massive racial justice organizing, COVID-19 pandemic, and a financial crisis, early childhood funders recognize the need to focus more intensely on Black leaders, young Black children, their families, and communities.  Funders themselves seek to be inclusive toward marginalized Black communities that have experienced historical oppression and have been systematically disinvested in over many years.

Drawing on the report findings and on her years of policy and practice, Dr. Killins Stewart will present a set of recommendations to help the field move toward greater equity.

You can hear a first big picture analysis, and recommendations by Dr. Killins Stewart on this  June 22nd funders event, co-sponsored funders briefing with Promise Venture Studio.

As part of our 1st & 3rd Thursday Funders Call Series on July 1st, ECFC will host a discussion of the issues presented in the report and their implications for ECFC and early childhood funders.

We recommend listening in on June 22nd for a high level analysis of findings we will be discussing).
