  • Pediatricians Supporting Parents (PsP)

PsP is a donor advised fund (DAF) operated through the Silicon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF). The fund pools funder contributions in order to make grants. PsP is a group of national early childhood funders focused on cultivating healthy social and emotional development in our country’s youngest, most vulnerable children, valuing the important role parents play in that development, and seizing the opportunity for pediatricians to better support parents in this role. The vision of PsP is that all children, from birth to age three, receive the supports they need to achieve Kindergarten readiness and positive life outcomes. With the ultimate goal of supporting Kindergarten readiness for all children in the United States, PsP recognizes that social and emotional development is a critical component of healthy development needed for early school success and positive life outcomes. Parents and primary caregivers play an essential role in supporting their children’s social and emotional development in the early years of life (birth through age three), thus PsP seeks opportunities to support them in that role. The pediatric channel provides a unique opportunity to reach parents and their children during the first three years of life through well-child visits, a time when families are available, curious, and open to new ideas.
