Co-Creating with Parent Leaders: Lessons on Building Authentic, Collaborative Relationships from the Parent Leader Network

On July 15, 2020, the Funders Group for Parent Organizing, Family Engagement and Leadership Development hosted a discussion for funders to learn how the Center for the Study of Social Policy (CSSP) has collaborated with parent leaders through the Parent Leader Network (PLN) to plan, create, and disseminate the “Manifesto for Race Equity & Parent Leadership in Early Childhood Systems,” as well as launch mini-grants for parent-led projects.

This 60 minute explored:

  • What parents and program staff have experienced and learned through this
          ongoing partnership and co-creation process
  • How PLN and CSSP are modifying their approach to co-create during this
          COVID-19 pandemic
  • How to apply the Manifesto in philanthropic practice
  • How funders can collaborate with parents in a way that is equitable,
accessible, authentic, and centers parent voice.
