About Us

About the Early Childhood Funders Collaborative

ECFC is a collaborative of committed early childhood funders who have been learning together and improving our collective positive impact for children, from birth to 8 years old, for over 20 years.

Our Vision

All children have an equitable opportunity for healthy development and learning, in the context of their families and communities.

Our Mission

ECFC has two primary goals for our work together:
  1. We will increase the effectiveness of philanthropic investment in systemic, equity-focused approaches to early childhood.
  2. We will promote federal, state, and local policies and practices that support young children, their families, and the early childhood community.
[ECFC enables us] to augment the impact of our investments by coordinating/partnering with
others; learn about new and effective strategies for achieving our goals; and affect federal and
state policy.

Maher Charitable Foundation

ECFC has provided a peer learning and support group that has helped to strengthen our
foundation’s grantmaking and our ability to leverage our impact effectively. ECFC has also
helped to elevate funders ability to influence the field as a whole and public policies at the state
and federal level because our collective voice and aligned approach is more powerful.

Irving Harris Foundation

ECFC provides invaluable opportunities to build relationships around the country, and to learn from both early childhood peers and the experts.
